Adam Ashton (sponsored by VJA Consultants Ltd) reports from Kings Hill Sports Park
The game was off to a quick start as the K Sports Reserves looked to make a fast impact on the game but the first dangerous attack went to Kings Hill, a cross from the left hand side resulted in a corner which turned into nothing.
Before you know it it’s 1-0 to K Sports Reserves, the ball was lost in the midfield by Moncieff and the ball whipped into the middle of the Kings Hill defence which seemed to be no where. Controlled on the chest and slotted under the Kings Hill keeper with 5 minutes gone.
With just over 10 minutes gone K Sports Reserves are dominating the game. They have created and attacked as a collective threat and have got that all important goal in their favour. Worrying times ahead for Kings Hill if it keeps up like this.
Kings Hill are on the attack lovely piece of skill by Austin as he picks the ball out the air flicks the ball over the defenders head, a left foot volley which turns into a cross and the wonder strike is on for Adam’s but he gets his timing totally wrong and ends up kicking thin air.
With just over 20 minutes gone Kings Hill have created some chances but nothing in comparison to the important goal the K Sports Reserves had scored. Moments later the first promising chance for kinsg Hill from a corner after some great hold up play by Moncieff. Corner taken by Cross Austin comes to nothing but a goal kick to the K Sports Reserves.
From out of nowhere it’s now 1-1, a wonderful header by Austin. Some nice flank play, rolled into the forward who holds the ball up,well, pass back to the edge of the box for a one touch left foot cross which lands on Austin’s head which completely changed the direction of the ball and left the keeper planted to his line.
Again on the attack straight from K sports Kick of Kings Hill regain possession and win a free kick with a diagonal ball into the box by Rice. The ball goes out for a Kings Hill throw from a great defensive header away. The throw in comes in and Adam’s is found on the edge of the box urged to shot but he had no real power behind the ball and it rolled into the keeper arms.
Kinsg Hill completely dominating that game. A long ball forward from Kings Hill lands at the veteran Simon Austin allowing him a chance on goal. The defender showed him away from goal, a supporting run by Moncieff gave an option but the resulting shot from Moncieff came to nothing as the keeper got control of the ball and cleared.
Austin and Moncieff's presence upfront for Kings Hill has slowly started to create some trouble for the defence of the K Sports Reserves.
Rice with a whipped ball into the box to the far post rom a free kick, Douglas heads the ball back across the goal for Austin to score from a few yards away into the bottom left hand corner. 2-1 Kings Hill 10 minutes before half time.
Austin agin on the attack and nearly gets his hat-trick. A run by Hollick down the left wing and a cross finds its way directly to Austin's head and merely goes wide. Time seemed to of froze as soon as the ball left Austin’s forehead.
Against the run of play its 2-2, a ball crossed to the K Sports Reserves number 10 as he drives into the box he shoots, only for the ball to be deflected, landing to the feet of the K Sports Reserves number 7 as he scores from close range.
Moments later number 10 collides and fouls the Kings Hill goalkeeper with apoorly times tackle. An outburst from the Kings Hill management team as a result as it looked to be a terrible foul. The referee pulls him aside and books him. A yellow card for the K Sports Reserves moments before half time. Thankfully the keeper is alright despite the referee not bothering to check on his condition.
What an eventful end to the first half. One last attack from Kings hill before the half time whistle results in a corner. Taken by Austin and the keeper had his arms around the attacker. Referee awards a penalty despite the anger and horror of the K spots keeper. Douglas expertly slots the penalty to make it 3-2 on the stroke of the 45th minute.
The end of an eventful first half as Kings Hill lead 3-2 as the teams take the 15 minute break to regroup and recover.
The second half starts with a stoppage as Hollick is fouled and injured in the center circle, stoppage for a minute but the resulting free kick turns to nothing.
The first goal of the second half is with us just minutes in, if the amount of goals in the second half is anything like the first we are in for a spectacular second half.
Kings Hill again with a slow build up play on the edge of the box. The ball was won by Minieri down the right wing, short passes from Minieri to Adams and a shot from the edge of the box by Adams, the save from the keeper fell to Austin for his hat-trick. The linesman flags for offside but the referee gives the goal.
Moncieff with a quality run down the left wing a low cross to Austin for his 4th of the game, he runs to the corner flag to celebrate with his daughter. 5-2 Kings Hill.
Its relentless now Kings Hill pushing for more A chance for 6 as Minieri breaks free and drives at the defence and takes a shot from about 25 yards out which forces the goalkeeper to make a save.
A foul by K Sports Reserves number 8 on Minieri resulting in a yellow card for the player with only minutes to go. With minutes left he hat-trick man comes off for 15 Tyler Wait.
A man of the match performance for the Veteran Austin, lethal from 3 yards and a great ability to redirect a ball with his head.
With only minutes remaining Kings Hill knew they had the game in the bag and began to play some better expressive football knowing it’ll take a miracle to concede multiple goals with only a few minutes remaining.
